ABSTRACT
One of the extraarticular involvement of rheumatoid arthritis is neurological involvement
and could be seen in the later stages of the disease. Neurological involvement in rheumatoid
arthritis could usually be seen due to the pressure of the pannus or inflame synovium of the spinal
cord and peripheral nerves, or rheumatoid vasculitis or drugs. In this report, we present a case of
rheumatoid arthritis with cervical myelopathy due to compression caused by pannus tissue in the
atlantoaxial joint and accompanying odontoid fracture, polyneuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome
and steroid myopathy.
