Gut hiperürisemi; tekrarlayıcı akut artrit atakları ile seyreden, eklemlerde monosodyum ürat kristallerinin biriktiği bir hastalıktır. Gut kliniği, iş gücü kaybı ve dizabiliteye sebep olması acısından önemlidir. Obezite, hipertansiyon, hiperlipidemi, alkol, kan ürik asit düzeyini yükselten ilaçlar, kırmızı et ve deniz ürünleri gut için risk faktörleridir. Gutu alevlendiren en yaygın ilaçlar diüretikler (tiazid ve loop diüretikler), salisilatlar, pirazinamid ve etambutoldur. Kilo verme, diyet değişiklikleri, hipertansiyon kontrolü gibi yaşam tarzı düzenlemeleri ve medikal tedavi gut tedavisinde önemlidir. Bununla birlikte, rehabilitasyon programının yararları göz ardı edilemez. Burada antitüberküloz tedavi süresince gut atağı geçiren, kronik gutlu bir erkek olgu sunulmuştur.

Gout is characterized by hyperuricemia, recurrent attacks of acute arthritis and accumulation of monosodium urate crystals in the joints. Clinical presentation of gout is important because of the work loss and caused disability. Obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, alcohol, ingestion of drugs which elevate serum urate concentration, red meat and seafood are the risk factors for gout. The most common agents that can promote flares of gout are diuretics (thiazide and loop diuretics), salicylates, pyrazinamide, ethambutol. Lifestyle modifications, including weight loss, dietary changes, hypertension control, and medical treatment are important of gout treatment. At the same time benefits of rehabilitation program can not be ignored. In this article, we report the case of a male patient with chronic gout, who had a acute gout episode during antituberculosis treatment.
